Germany between small and big screen at the centre of the 41st edition

The 41st edition of the International Cinema Meetings of Sorrento will be dedicated to Germany and to its cinematography; the event, which will take place between April 10 and 14 in the Italian coastal town of Sorrento, is organized by Cineventi with the artistic direction of Remigio Truocchio and the support of Campania Municipality in collaboration with Film Commission Campania.

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Sorrento, headed by the Mayor Giuseppe Cuomo, organized by the Events Department and coordinated by the Culture Section Manager, Antonino Giammarino, author of the new format.

This year’s tribute to Germany reconfirms the traditional formula of the event: every edition is dedicated to the cinematography of a different country. In the course of 5 days numerous screenings, previews, retrospectives, panels and meetings take place, involving guests from cinema and television.

The national focus is also apparent in the new visual layout of the event, curated for the fourth time by StudioEsse, which for the past two years used very stylized and captivating iconic elements; this year they will pay homage to one of the greatest German and International stars of all times: Marlene Dietrich.
